Welcome 2012...

Happy, belated, New Year!
I pray your year (and mine) will be full of God, health, love and family!

A friend of mine posted this on her FB page...
I really need to be better at doing this. So this is my "resolution"...to seek and find a more intimate relationship with God.

Psalm 105:4 "look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always"

I spent Tuesday out in the office, doing some filing, getting ready for tax season and setting up new files for this year. It got me thinking and doing some searching about what I needed/wanted for myself this year. I spent a lot of time last year trying to get a monogramming/embroidering business up and running. But while I was filing, 6 months worth of receipts and paperwork, I decided that "my business" was taking too much of my time away from OUR business. And while it has taken time away from our construction business, it has also taken time away from my two children. So I decided that since my children haven't started school, that I need to put that business on the back burner. That will give me the time I need to help my husband in our business, as well as the time I need to be spending with my children. I will pick "my business" back up in a year or so, when my children start school. I really enjoy embroidering/monogramming and i will still take on clients here and there, but it will be mostly a hobby. It's a bit disappointing, but after a lot of thought, I realized that it wasn't about what "I" wanted or needed. It was about what my FAMILY needed. And I think this is what is best for my family. I won't have to stop embroidering/monogramming all together, as that I have a baby shower at the end of the month and another sometime in February. And my son's birthday party is next week and he has requested a birthday shirt. So now I'll get to work planning his "Dr Seuss" birthday party! I'm pretty excited about this party! I've seen lots of fun, cute stuff on Pinterest (don't get me started...that takes up a lot of my time as well!).
Birthday post to come soon! :)

We welcome 2011...

...with prayerful hearts for another Blessed year!
Happy New Year!
Ok, here it is...my first blog post of 2011!! It's only, what, nine days late???

Everyone is "tweeting" about New Years resolutions.'Well, I'm not one for "resolutions" but I do have several personal changes I'm striving to make this up coming year.
As a child of God, wife, stay at home mommy to two and a somewhat neat freak, there are several things I need to change.

1. Spending more time in The Word, building a more intimate relationship with God.

2. Being a more loving/affectionate and supportive wife to the wonderful man I am so Blessed to call my husband and the father of my children. And bringing back "date-night" so that we get more quality time with each other.

3. More quality time with my two precious angels. I've got to start letting the house-work go for a bit (working faster to complete my daily "to-do" list). Stop stressing so over the mess they just made, but enjoying the laughter, smiles and memories that came from the fun they just had.

Sure! I'd love to loose some weight and become a millionaire, but I don't see that happening. At least not that second one. ;)
After all, we've only got this one life. Let's make the most of it! So, if you're like me...try to stop stressing over the small stuff and enjoy the pitter patter (thump/thud) of those little feet and the messes that they make!!

Hoping that these first few days of 2011 have been good to all of you!!
Happy, belated, New Year!!!
