Preparing for Kindergarten...

We have applied for enrollment at New Hope Academy (a private school in our area). Upon acceptance, we have decided to pull the children out of daycare, in order to save money to apply toward his tuition. I am trying to prepare myself for what I will need to teach Aiden, so that he'll be ready for Kindergarten. I'm not designed for teaching. I don't have have the patience. But, if he's excepted, it's what I'll need to do.
At the beginning of the school year, their teachers sent home notes telling us, the parents, what they would be teaching the children, in order to ready them for, Pre-K & K. I have started doing "school" at home with Aiden, in order to make sure he's ready. I'm finding, in our home full of toys, it's very distracting. I really need to set up a more "school" like environment for us to do our work in (he definitely needs some sort of a desk). My second task is figuring out how to entertain Abby (who also has a list of her own items and who is so eager to learn), while trying to teach Aiden. I'll have all of next year to teach Abby, as that she will be at home with me full-time. So right now, I want to focus most of my attention on Aiden's learning, but I also don't want Abby to feel left out.
I found this cute table on Pinterest. I'm thinking I'll make the legs taller, so they can sit in chairs instead of on the floor. Then maybe with a designated area to do his school work, he'll be able to focus.

I'm thinking this would be a great solution!
