2012 Beach Family Photo Shoot

Every year, I try to have our pictures taken while we are at the cabin. I think last year was the only year I failed at that. We are there for two weeks and I always wait until the day before we leave to decide to take pictures. And last year, the weather was too bad. Again, this year, I waited until the last day, and it was very windy. But my fabulous photographer and her fabulous assistant managed to pull it off!! Here ya go!!

Michigan Vacation 2012

This year, like the past 6, we headed to Michigan for our yearly, family, vacation. We left TN with the weather still in the 90's. Arrived in MI to find the weather still in the upper 80's. We start our vacation in Charlevoix, my favorite place. We stay in a condo right on Round Lake, where we stare out at a slew of boats/yachts. It's a very quaint place where we do a lot of shopping, walking and eating (my husbands favorite part)!!

Then, like I mentioned, we do a lot of eating. We go to a brunch on Sunday, Labor Day weekend, at The Bayview Inn. It's an all you can eat buffet. It's divine. Not your typical buffet...NO. It's has everything from fresh fish, to seafood, to a carving station, fresh homemade waffles, etc. It sits right on Lake Michigan and the view, as well as the food, is fabulous.  And thanks to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, we take this opportunity to snap a few family photos.
Yes...I am "that" wife...we are "that" family...all matchy, matchy.

Once we leave Charlevoix, we head "south" back down to Whitehall, where we spend another 2 weeks. :D

Down to the wire

Well, we are a week out from leaving on vacation! I’ve gotten A LOT done, but i still have to finish 4 pillow cases, 2 bath towels, 2 pencil cases, a wipe case, monogram over a previous monogrammed shirt, as well as make her a bow for that outfit, make/find curtains for our office and test a design. It’s still quite a bit, but my plan is to get it all done today!

On a side note…One the best things that could have happened right before vacation…my little girl decided to give up her night time pull ups!!!! YES! She didn’t all on her own. She just looked at me after her bath and said “mommy, i want to wear my big girl panties like Ainen (Aiden)”. I said, OK! And she did it! This is day 3. Yee-Haw! That means there is now more room in her suitcase for cute clothes instead of bulky pull ups! Can you tell I’m a little excited?? And that means I get to return a pack of pulls up! That’s always a good feeling.

Great success!!

Since my last post, I’ve been EXTREMELY productive!!! I completed all 4 beach towels, all 4 luggage tags, picked up the new MP3 players and got them loaded with “kid” tunes!

Now, I’m down to 2 backpacks, the consignment sale (Thursday) and then a 6 piece baby gift set that has to be completed for Saturday! But I’m determined to get it ALL done!!!

Getting ready for vacation…

As our yearly vacation to Michigan inches closer and closer (2 1/2 weeks), I find myself getting very busy. I bought everybody new beach towels and I’m planning on monogramming/appliqueing them for our trip. On top of that, I bought my two children new backpacks that I will be monogramming as well. I have two brand new mp3 players I bought for the little ones as well, that I have to get loaded with their “toddler” tunes. I’ve decided this year, since they are almost 5 and almost 3, and we don’t have to carry bottles, cups, bowls, food, pack n plays, etc…that we are getting one carry on piece of luggage and one backpack each. That way everyone is responsible for his/her own things. So I’ve found new suitcases, one for the children. One is blue and one is pink. Then, I have to want to make luggage tags for those as well as mine and my husbands. These are just printable, but they’ll need laminating and then attached, somehow. This doesn’t seem like a lot to do with two and a half weeks before vacation, but amidst all this I’m also preparing for a consignment sale this week. Then, I have the two little ones running around three of the five days a week. So I only get “nap-time” to get anything done, when they are home. And when they aren’t home, I’m busy working in the office for my husband, who owns a construction company. So making time for my stuff is almost impossible. When I do have time in MY office, it’s working on customer orders, not my own. And I’m sure the both will need new appliqued shirts to wear on vacation as well. But I’m determined to have this all done and have a great vacation! This will most likely be out last trip to Michigan, as that my little boy will start school next year. :/ But that’s a whole other post.
